Makati Shangri-La Staycation

Is it August already? How time flies! Anyway, I just wanted to share my first ever staycation at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. We stayed during Holy Week from Black Friday to Easter Sunday.

Makati Shangri-La Lobby Lounge

After having lunch at Nihonbashi Tei along Arnaiz Ave., we wasted no time and proceeded to check in at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Cars heading to the hotel's parking lot were bumper to bumper, finding a parking slot proved to be difficult. The good news is there's valet service available.

Mom was advised to register early to avoid long lines. Boy, I am glad she listened. Right after we put our bags in the hotel room and went down for an Afternoon Tea at the Lobby Lounge, I saw more guests lining up.

We booked two adjoining rooms. Our room came with a king size bed while the other room came with two queen size beds.

swimming pool was crowded

Funny at how the staff described the scene at the pool area "Ma'am, standing ovation po!" lol Anyway, she said she will give me a call when there's an available spot in the kiddie pool and she did.

breakfast at Circles

To accommodate all the guests for breakfast, Makati Shangri-La opened its Rizal Ballroom. We were lucky we were able to grab a table at Circles on Saturday morning. The next day, we tried having breakfast at the ballroom. The food served were pretty much the same but Circle's ambiance is so much better!

Most of the hotel guests left the hotel on Saturday, we stayed until Sunday. The swimming pool area was not as crowded anymore. My baby girl was able to have fun under the sun, ika nga!

I wanted to stay at Makati Shangri-La again but not during holidays like Holy Week. We were not able to fully enjoy the amenities because the hotel was fully booked. Anyway, you can read and view the cute bunny centerpiece here.

Update: For Makati Shangri-la's latest offering, #WonderfulWeekends,  we stayed at a Deluxe Suite. Read the full entry here.  #MakatiShangrilaExperience
