Baby Shower Gift Guide & Ideas

It's a boy! One of my friends is having a baby and that only means one thing, it is time to celebrate and have a party!

Scheduling the baby shower was easy peasy, thinking of what to give was the toughest part. I don't want you to break the bank so I am sharing a gift guide on what to give the expectant mom and her baby.

gift basket containing baby essentials

The most practical gift is a basket filled with essential items for the mom and her newborn baby. I like giving away gift baskets on special occasions (birthdays, baby showers etc.) because I can personalized it with products that I think would be useful to the receiver. The contents may vary depending on the budget.

  • PAJAMA SET

H&M pajamas Php 899

I found this cute pair of pajamas with hoodie from H&M on sale of only Php 300. That's Php 600 savings! With the money I saved, I was able to buy the following items to add to the basket:

  • DIAPER (cloth is better than disposable, of course!)
  • BODY WASH (natural and organic is the way to go!)
  • BODY OIL
  • WIPES (fragrance free is a must!)

HUGGIES Total Protection NewBorn, Human Nature Natural Baby Wash, Baby Oil and Johnson's Baby Messy Times Wipes

When giving a gift, I usually think of products that I used on my own child. Here are some of my tried and tested brands- HUGGIES, Human Heart Nature Natural Baby Wash, Human Heart Nature Natural Wonder Oil and Johnson's Baby Messy Times Wipes (hand & face).

  • PRUNE JUICE

Prune Juice Php 161

This bottle of Prune Juice is especially packed inside the gift basket for the expectant mom. Prune Juice helps in improving digestion and keeps the mother away from constipation. It is also packed with vitamins, iron, fiber and potassium.

  • COTTON
  • ALCOHOL
  • BABY BOTTLE CLEANSER
  • BABY LIQUID DETERGENT

Other items you can include are cotton, alcohol, baby bottle cleanser, baby liquid detergent. If you are feeling generous, why not fill the gift basket with baby glass bottles.

  • SLEEP SACK

Sleep sacks are wearable blankets for babies. It's an infant sleeping bag to keep babies safe and sound. It replaces loose blankets and decreases the chance of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

  • ONESIES

  • SHOES

You can also give department store gift certificates/gift cards, it's a no-brainer gift idea but equally appreciated by the receiver. There are plenty of other baby stuff you can give, these suggestions are just some of the products that I can recall from last Saturday's baby shower. If you want to add other gift ideas, please feel free to write about it in the comment section.
