Our recent trip to Hong Kong has been by far the most stress-free. I am so used to booking on the last minute- like our Singapore trip last December 2014 where we booked everything two days prior to our departure date that booking 2 weeks prior to departure is like a walk in the park.

Since we booked via Philippine Airline's 60% off Summer Weekend Promo, we have to add 2 more days to our trip. Thank goodness, I found out that Ovolo offers 10% off on total accommodation bill to all its Facebook fans.

We arrived Hong Kong past midnight, took a taxi to the hotel and paid around HKD280 for the ride. A gentleman greeted us as we find our way to the reception area on the first floor. We showed our passports and the credit card used for booking our room online.
We were given a room on the 21st floor. Each floor only has 3 rooms. We got the one in the corner with a view. Our room was quite huge for Hong Kong standards. We booked Ovolo because it offers spacious room and its close proximity to Hong Kong Disneyland.
Just how big is our room?! We have two air conditioners running the whole time- one facing the bed and another one in the living area. We only turn it off whenever I gave my little one a bath.
Just beside the queen size bed is a cabinet where I found an extra comforter for the roll-out bed and an electronic safe on one side of the partition. There were lampshades and blackout roller blinds on both sides of the bed.
The TV stand serves as a divider for the living area and kitchen area. The kitchen area is well-equipped. It has utensils, a microwave oven, a toaster, a refrigerator, and an electric water kettle.

The items inside the minibar are complimentary for guests to consume. Items are replenished daily. Since we are out the whole day and drinks are expensive, we transfer and freeze the colas overnight. The next day, we have frozen drinks to take wherever we go.
On another pull-out cabinet, there's an ironing board and an iron for your clothes (not in the photo).
The toilet is found adjacent to where the refrigerator is located. There are ample towels and even floor mat (changed daily) including toiletries inside the bathroom.

It's a multipoint water heater so even the sink has hot and cold water. Shower Operation Instructions is found beside the heater.
The toilet seat is separated with a door so you can have privacy when you do your thing. There's no bidet ; (

Ovolo West Kowloon Hong Kong is at the center of two MTR stations- Sham Shui Po and Nam Cheong. You will passed by a flea market when you walk towards Sham Shui Po station. If you want a more peaceful walk, take the Nam Cheong station where you will passed by several residential condominiums. Both stations are not stroller friendly. You have to take the Exit at the far end of the station to access the lift.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel as an alternative choice for families who want to stay in a hotel closer to Hong Kong Disneyland.
