Baking has saved me a lot of time in the kitchen. I don't need to prepare a lot of ingredients, most of which are found in my cupboard. The procedure is easy and most importantly, I don't have to wash a lot of utensils ; p
Take this Creamy Cheesy Baked Penne... I got the recipe at the back of Dona Elena Al Dente Penne Rigate packaging. It's supposed to be a Baked Three Cheese Penne but since I don't have Quickmelt Cheese in my fridge, I decided to make do with two- Parmesan and Cheddar Cheese.
Baked Cheese Penne Ingredients
- 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
- 2-3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups Emborg Full Cream Milk
- 3/4 cup Cheddar Cheese, grated
- 3/4 cup Quickmelt Cheese, grated
- 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 3/4 cup Spaghetti Sauce
- Dona Elena Al Dente Penne Rigata (cooked according to package)
Creamy Cheese Sauce Procedure

- In a sauce pan, heat butter and saute onions until translucent
- Add flour and mix it with the butter and onions with a whisk until well combined
- Add milk and continue whisking until the sauce thickens
- Add all cheeses and mix until sauce becomes smooth
- Season with salt and pepper
- Remove Creamy Cheesy Sauce from heat
7. Place the cooked pasta in a baking dish
8. Top with the spaghetti sauce and mix
9. Cover with the Creamy Cheesy Sauce
10. Bake in the oven for at least 15-20 minutes at 175 degree Celcius or 350 degree Fahrenheit or until the cheese bubbles

"Is this from a restaurant takeout or what?!" DH quipped right after having a hearty dinner. He couldn't believe that a dish this good was baked by the love of his life, ha!
